Mirthquake Productions and the 20th Century Center proudly present CathARTic 4: SCHLOCK TREATMENT, our fourth annual Halloween Art Show and Short Film Expo. This year's event was so successful that next year, 2008, we have a few changes... rather than a single night charity event as it has been in the past, we're going to be holding the event over five nights: every Friday in October!

Budget considering, plans are that each Friday is going to be dedicated to a special guest and theme. So far we have tentatively booked the San Francisco based Zombie Dance Troupe "Living Dead Girlz," whose parody film "BRAINS" is rapidly approaching the million view mark on YouTube. We've also booked UK based documentarian Paul Davis who has made a film called Beware the Moon: Remembering American Werewolf in London, and we're in talks with Tom Savini, who not only is an acclaimed actor and director, but the makeup effects artist responsible for Creepshow, the original Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Friday the 13th and dozens of others. We're also talking with some of the most famous names in horror alive today (too early to tell you who, unfortunately), and have NEW events planned too, such as a short film contest, and movie memorabilia show!
But don't think we've forgotten the roots of our event — the art show!
The theme of the art show this year is SCHLOCK TREATMENT, and considering the horror film aspect of the festival we're going to be riffing on that again. Artists are either going to be taking an established film, NOT in the horror genre, and do a piece of art turning it into a shlocky grindhouse b-picture, or base a piece of art on one of our special guests. Once again a portion of all art sales goes to the Wichita Film Festivals, Inc.

A portion of all profits from each event will be split between the Wichita Film Festivals, Inc. and a charity of each guests choosing.
But we can only do this with YOUR help. Your sponsorship and donations can make all of this possible. Please feel free to contact Dan Oropesa, Wade Parsons or myself to see how you can help bring Hollywood to the Heartland, and put the "Witch" back in Wichita!
So Stay tuned, if you have any questions, drop me a line, and expect regular updates!
Thanks again!
